The Meerut Metro project, initiated on March 8, 2019, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is an under-construction urban mass transport system in Uttar Pradesh, India. Managed by NCTRC and UPMRCL, it spans two phases: Phase 1 from Meerut South to Modipuram, and the proposed Phase 2 from Shradhapuri Phase II to Jagriti Vihar. Phase 1 covers 23.60 KM with 13 stations, while Phase 2 plans for 15 KM with 12 stations. Phase 2 is awaiting approval for a new detailed project report.
