Nauchandi Mela

Nauchandi Mela is one of the oldest and most famous cultural fairs in Uttar Pradesh, held annually at Nauchandi Ground in Meerut. Celebrated for centuries, the fair symbolizes communal harmony, with the historic Nauchandi Devi Templeand Bale Miyan Dargah located side by side. Every year, lakhs of visitors gather to enjoy cultural performances, shopping, handicrafts, amusement rides, traditional food, exhibitions, and religious celebrations, making it one of the biggest attractions in Western Uttar Pradesh.

The mela traditionally begins after Holi during the Chaitra month and continues for several weeks. It has evolved from a historic cattle fair into a grand cultural festival that showcases the rich heritage, art, crafts, and traditions of Meerut and Uttar Pradesh. Nauchandi Mela also plays an important role in promoting local businesses, tourism, and folk culture while attracting visitors from across the country. In 2026, the fair was organized with cultural events, exhibitions, shopping stalls, and entertainment under the supervision of the district administration.
