The foundation stone for the Delhi Meerut Rapid Rail Project was laid by PM Narendra Modi Ji in March 2019, and construction of the same also began in June 2019. On 5th January 2025, the corridor was extended to New Ashok Nagar from Meerut South, and now the operational length is 55 kilometres.
The Meerut Delhi Rapid Rail route is 82.15 km long, of the entire route 68.03 km (42.27 mi) will be elevated, 14.12 km will be underground and 1.45 km will be at grade for connections to two depots to be located at Duhai, and Modipuram. Currently, the 1st Rapid Metro of the country is operational on the Delhi Meerut route, it is currently running between 11 stations from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South. The ticket price for the Delhi Meerut Rapid Metro Train varies from one station to another station distance and as per the coach you choose. There are two types of coaches in the rapid rail; one is the premium coach, and the other one is a standard coach, the premium coach price is more than that of the standard coach. The premium coach has many better facilities than the standard coach.
Delhi Meerut Rapid Metro Ticket Price Fare– The maximum price on the operation route is Rs. 225 for the premium coach and Rs. 150 for the standard coach. The minimum ticket price for the RRTS route is Rs. 20 for the standard coach and Rs. 40 for the premium coach.
