The Delhi-Meerut Rapid Rail Transit System is 82.15 km, partly operational and under construction, a semi-high speed rail line with 16 stations connecting Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut through a series of tunnels and elevated viaducts. The priority corridor from Sahibabad to Duhai, 17 km long, was inaugurated on 20th October 2023, and it was opened to passengers on 21st October 2023.
The owner of the corridor is NCRTC and it is operated and maintained by DB RRTS Operations India Pvt. Ltd. for 12 years through a contract for Rs. 1493.08 crore with a further 5-year option, as part of the contract. Delhi Meerut Rapid Rail Station List
There are 16 stations in the Delhi Meerut RRTS Corridor, the corridor will begin from Jangpura and take its course from Sarai Kale Khan. Then it will pass through Ghaziabad–Muradnagar-Modinagar, cross Meerut, simultaneously with the Meerut Metro, and end in Modipuram.
Apart from these 16 stations, there are 6 intermediate stations in Meerut where the RRTS will not have any stops. At four stations in Meerut, the RRTS and Meerut Metro will be integrated for stops, these stations are Meerut South, Shatabdi Nagar, Begumpul, and Modipuram. Jangpura RRTS Station AS1
Jangpura RRTS station will also have a stabling yard for train stabling and maintenance, an operational control centre, office complexes, and residential towers. Mathura Road in South Delhi connects to Jangpura station for smooth accessibility. In this process, NCRTC will construct a four-lane connecting road from Mathura Road towards Jangpura RRTS station. With this construction in place, the residents of Ashram, Maharani Bagh, Nizamuddin, and Jangpura can avail of RRTS services easily, without any hassle of getting stuck in traffic jams.
Sarai Kale Khan RRTS Station Z00
Sarai Kale Khan RRTS Station is one of the largest stations on the corridor. With Multi-Modal Integration (MMI) at its core, this station is strategically located in close vicinity of Delhi Metro Station, Indian Railway’s Hazrat Nizamuddin station, and Vir Haqiqat Rai ISBT. It will provide seamless Intermodal Integration between these modes of transit. This station is also significant as all 3 priority RRTS corridors (Delhi-Panipat, Delhi-SNB-Alwar, and Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut) of the first phase will converge here. Interoperability will allow commuters to travel from one corridor to another without the hassle of changing trains.
New Ashok Nagar RRTS Station A01
New Ashok Nagar RRTS Station was constructed near the already operational New Ashok Nagar Metro Station, the distance between them being merely 100 meters. To integrate both modes, NCRTC will provide a FOB (Free on Board). This FOB will connect the concourse level of the Metro station to the floor below the concourse level of the RRTS station.
To provide better connectivity and access to the station with the adjoining areas, NCRTC is constructing two more FOBs at this station. On one side of the RRTS station, a FOB will provide connectivity to the nearby areas of Chilla Village and the Mayur Vihar Extension. On the other side, a FOB will be provided near the Ancient Shiv Temple for ease of access to the residents of New Ashok Nagar.
Anand Vihar RRTS Station A02
Anand Vihar RRTS Station is one of the busiest commuter transit hubs having a huge daily footfall, as it is surrounded by a Metro station serving two metro lines, a Railway Station, and two ISBTs – one at the Delhi side and the other one at Kaushambi, UP side.
For passenger convenience, three lifts (one to access the platform and two to connect to the metro), five escalators (three to access the platform and two to connect to the metro), and two entry/exit gates will be provided at this station. One entrance will be towards Chaudhary Charan Singh Marg and the other will be towards Anand Vihar Railway Station.
Sahibabad RRTS Station A03
The Sahibabad RRTS Station is an elevated station, assigned station code A03. Sahibabad Rapid Metro Station is located on the Madan Mohan Malviya Marg, Sahibabad Namo Bharat Station is conveniently located near several transit options, including Sahibabad Railway Station (approximately 1.3 km away), Shyam Park Metro Station (around 2.5 km away), and Vaishali Metro Station (about 3.3 km away).
Ghaziabad RRTS Station A04
Ghaziabad RRTS Station is located near the Meerut trisection, it is the second station of Ghaziabad. It is an elevated station with station code A04. Ghaziabad Rapid Metro Station is a divyangjan friendly station, the helpline no. is 9289928705. The next station towards Sarai Kale Khan is Sahibabad and towards Modipuram is Guldhar.
Guldhar RRTS Station A05
Guldhar RRTS Station offers world-class transit services to residents of Raj Nagar, Raj Nagar Extension, Sanjay Nagar, and Niti Nagar in Ghaziabad. The station features two entry and exit gates at ground level, ensuring universal accessibility. Additionally, for seamless traffic flow, entry and exit are conveniently accessible from the service road.
Duhai RRTS Station A06
Duhai RRTS Station is also in Ghaziabad district, located at the Delhi-Meerut road, it is an elevated station, has station code A06. The Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) is in close proximity of the station. You can change it here for the Duhai Depot RRTS Station.
Duhai Depot RRTS Station AD1
Duhai Depot houses the operational control centre of the RRTS corridor. The Administrative Building at Duhai Depot is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, along with various modern systems, state-of-the-art labs, simulator rooms, central work, and various equipment rooms. To reach Duhai Depot RRTS Station, you need to change to Rapid Metro from Duhai Station.
Murad Nagar RRTS Station A07
Muradnagar RRTS Station will feature two entry and exit gates at ground level, ensuring universal accessibility. To facilitate smooth traffic movement, entry and exit will be accessible from the service road. Additionally, the station will offer seamless integration with Muradnagar Bus Station.
Modi Nagar South RRTS Station A08
The Modi Nagar South Station has three levels: ground level, concourse level, and platform level. For the convenience of the passengers, one entry/exit will be made on both sides of the station at the ground level. The Modinagar South RRTS Station is an elevated station with station code A08, it is a Divyangjan station, and the helpline contact no. is 9289928722.
Modi Nagar North RRTS Station A09
Modi Nagar North RRTS Station will have entry and exit gates on both sides of the main road at ground level to provide convenient access from both sides of the road. The station will have 2-2 escalators and 1-1 lift along with stairs to go from ground level to concourse level and platform level. The station code of Modinagar North Rapid Metro Station is A09, it is the 2nd RRTS station of Modinagar town and serves the area of Modinagar.
Meerut South RRTS Station A10
Meerut South RRTS Station will provide services for RRTS as well as Meerut Metro. This station is being constructed near the Meerut Expressway. It is the first operational Namo Bharat Station of Meerut, you can interchange here for the Meerut Metro.
Shatabdi Nagar RRTS Station A13
Shatabdi Nagar RRTS Station will enhance connectivity for residents and those employed in nearby industrial units. It will offer convenient travel options towards Delhi and Modipuram, serving both RRTS trains and Meerut Metro services. The station will feature two entry and exit gates on either side of the road for easy access.
Begumpul RRTS Station A17
Begumpul RRTS Station is an underground transit hub serving both regional trains and the local Meerut Metro. Located in Meerut’s bustling business centre, the station will feature four entry and exit gates for commuter convenience. The first gate will provide access to Abu Lane, the city’s main market, while the second will connect to Lal Kurti Market. The third entrance will link to Zero Mile, and the fourth will offer access to the opposite side of Zero Mile.
Modipuram RRTS Station A21
Modipuram Station will be an elevated transit hub offering access to both RRTS and MRTS trains. Conveniently located near several residential societies, it will also benefit rural areas in the northern part of Meerut, enhancing connectivity for commuters.
