Expected the other Metro Map Meerut in Future
The first corridor of the Meerut Metro has already started operations after it was inaugurated by the Prime Minister on 22 February 2026. This corridor connects Bhood Baral (Meerut South) to Modipuram and serves several stations across the city, while the Modipuram Depot station is still under construction. For the second corridor, a new DPR (Detailed Project Report) is planned to be prepared. Earlier, RITES Limited had prepared DPRs for two proposed corridors to expand the Meerut Metro network in the future.
- The first phase was proposed from Partapur to Pallavpuram Phase-1 via Begumpul.
- The second phase was planned from Phase-2 to Hapur Adda Crossing via Gokulpur village.
However, before construction began, changes were made to the first phase, revising it to run from Meerut South to Modipuram. Now, after the first phase has started, discussions about the second phase have started again, with the possibility of route modifications.
Meerut MP Arun Govil has also requested the Chief Minister to approve the second corridor and additionally proposed a third corridor from Football Chowk to Baghpat Road Flyover.
Due to these new changes, the second corridor’s DPR will be redrafted. Instead of starting from Shradhapuri, it is now being considered to extend the route from Begumpul to Gokulpur or even further.
