A state-of-the-art Namo Bharat depot is under development in Modipuram, Meerut. Adjacent to the depot, a Meerut Metro station is also being constructed, enhancing connectivity for local residents. The 82-km Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor already has an operational depot in Duhai, while the second depot in Modipuram is advancing swiftly. With land acquisition complete, civil work is progressing rapidly.
The NCRTC is building this depot 500 meters from the Agricultural University campus, along with a Depot Control Center (DCC) to oversee monitoring and operations. Additionally, a train workshop is being established at the depot for the maintenance of Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro trains.

About Modipuram Depot Meerut Metro Station
Near the Modipuram depot, an at-grade Meerut Metro station is also under development, featuring two entry-exit points. To enhance accessibility, a foot-over bridge will connect the station to the University. This new station will benefit residents of Pawli Khas, Daurala, Sakoti, and Pawarsa villages, providing improved connectivity to Modinagar, Ghaziabad, and Delhi.
The Modipuram Depot Meerut Metro Station is the last station of Meerut Metro Phase 1, it is on the Spur Line between Modipuram and Modipuram Depot. It is the only depot station in Meerut Metro, the station code is AS3, which is owned and operated by NCRTC. It is an at-grade station of Meerut Metro, which has no connectivity with RRTS.
Ticket Price of Modipuram Depot Metro Station
Preparations for Namo Bharat extension and Meerut Metro operations in Meerut on the Delhi-Meerut Rapid Rail Corridor have intensified. The work of fixing the ticket prices has also been started by NCRTC. The fare for Meerut Metro travel will be fixed by the end of this month or by March.
According to NCRTC officials, the process is underway. It is expected that the minimum fare for Metro in Meerut can be 15 to 20 rupees, and the maximum can be 80 to 100 rupees. The official fare chart will be announced before the start of operations.
