Receiving Substation at Sarai Kale Khan RRTS Station

NCRTC is nearing operational readiness of Sarai Kale Khan, the largest station on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor. As part of this progress, the Receiving Substation (RSS) at Sarai Kale Khan has been completed and is undergoing testing. It will serve as the main power hub for all three Phase-1 corridors.

The RSS will receive 66 kV power from Delhi Transco Limited and GTPS, and distribute 25 kV for trains and 33 kV for stations. Four transformers—two 66/33 kV and two 66/25 kV—have been installed, with one as a backup. Two more 66/25 kV transformers are planned for future expansions.

All RSSs are being built to IGBC green building standards, featuring solar panels, rainwater harvesting, sewage treatment, and energy-efficient systems. The 82 km corridor aims to generate 11 MW of solar power and reduce 11,500 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually, supporting NCRTC’s sustainable energy goals.

OHE Charged at 25 kV Between New Ashok Nagar and Sarai Kale Khan Rapid Metro Stations

To facilitate this, NCRTC has signed an agreement with Delhi Transco Limited and the Gas Turbine Power Station (GTPS). Currently, power for this section is being supplied by the Ghaziabad RSS.
