Begumpul attracts a large number of people daily who come to shop for essential goods, as the station is situated in the heart of the market. Once train operations begin, it will offer great convenience to commuters. From Begumpul Station, people will be able to travel not only within Meerut city via the metro but also to reach Ghaziabad and Delhi through the Namo Bharat train.

Location of Begumpul Rapid Rail Station- Begumpul Rapid Metro Station is 2nd underground station on the Delhi Meerut RRTS line, located at Bharat Mata Chowk (Begumpul) in Meerut. Designated with the station code A17. The next RRTS station towards New Delhi is Shatabdi Nagar and the next station towards Modipuram is Modipuram RRTS Station.

Begumpul RRTS Station stretches around 246 meters in length and 24.5 meters in width, with a depth of approximately 22 meters. Despite being located deep underground, the station has been designed with passenger convenience in mind.

Begumpul Station is structured across four levels: ground, mezzanine, concourse, and platform. Passenger amenities will be available on the concourse level, where travelers can access the station through AFC gates following security checks. The platform level features an island layout, enabling train operations in both directions.

Begumpul RRTS Station Opening Date

Now, all the focus on the Delhi–Meerut Rapid Rail Corridor is on Meerut. Trial runs of the underground Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro have already been underway for the past 3–4 months between Meerut South to Modipuram.

Earlier, NCRTC had claimed that by July 2025, operations would begin from Modipuram in Meerut to Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi. With the successful completion of construction work up to Sarai Kale Khan and ongoing trials, NCRTC’s attention has now shifted to the underground section in Meerut.

Begumpul, one of the key underground Namo Bharat stations in Meerut, has completed all major construction work and is in its final preparation stage. The station is expected to open for public operations by October 2025. NCRTC officials consider the successful completion of construction and trials across the corridor a major milestone, marking Meerut as the next focus point for the project’s full-scale launch.

Begumpul is the only underground station in Meerut equipped with four entry and exit gates, ensuring easy and convenient access from all directions. Gate No. 1 caters to passengers arriving from Abu Lane, while Gate No. 2 serves those coming from Sotiganj. Gate No. 3 is located near National Inter College, providing access for commuters in that area. Gate No. 4 offers entry and exit for passengers traveling to and from the Meerut Cantt area. These strategically placed gates make it easy for passengers to access the station from multiple points around the locality.

A total of seven lifts will be installed at Begumpul Rapid Rail Station, with three nearing completion, along with stairways for passenger access. The NCRTC has also equipped the station to handle medical emergencies. Spacious lifts have been designed at each station to accommodate stretchers when needed, and provisions have also been made to carry stretchers onboard the train.
