The Ganga Expressway is a 1,047 km long expressway currently under construction in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The project is being executed in two phases. Of the total length, 594 km—stretching from Meerut to Prayagraj—has been approved and is being developed as Phase 1. The remaining 453 km is part of the planned extension under Phase 2.
Phase 1 will link Bijauli village on NH-34 in Meerut district to Jadapur Dandu village on NH-19 in Prayagraj, passing through Sarai Katiyan village on NH-27 in Kanpur.
The Uttar Pradesh Government has proposed to extend the expressway beyond Phase 1—from Meerut to Haridwar in the west and from Prayagraj to Ballia in the east. As of February 2021, the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Phase 2 is yet to be prepared.
