Meerut Metro Train

The Meerut Metro Train boasts a modern design with stainless steel coaches that are 3.2 meters wide and 22 meters long. Each three-coach train can seat around 175 passengers and accommodate over 700 in total. It features an ergonomic layout with 2×2 comfortable seating, luggage racks, and grab handles for standing passengers. Fully designed and manufactured in India under the ‘Make-in-India’ initiative, the metro is energy-efficient and equipped with automated train control, regenerative braking, and modern safety systems including emergency alarms, talk-back units, and evacuation tools. The trains come with charging ports, push-button doors with indicator lights, digital display boards, and comprehensive CCTV surveillance. Stations are equipped with Platform Screen Doors (PSD) for crowd management, and the coaches offer space for wheelchairs and medical stretchers. The metro uses advanced LTE-based Hybrid Level-3 signaling with European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 2 for enhanced safety and efficiency.
