Meerut Metro Start Date

The construction work for the Meerut Metro has been ongoing in the city since June 2019. Earlier, on March 8, 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for both the Meerut Metro and the Delhi-Meerut Rapid Rail project. Now, in 2025, while the Rapid Metro train between Delhi and Meerut has started operating, the Meerut Metro is still not operational for the residents.

Meerut Metro Start Date

The Meerut Metro will have a total of 13 stations, starting from Meerut South and ending at Modipuram Depot. This massive project is expected to cost around ₹11,540 crore and is taking considerable time to complete. The distance between these 13 stations in Phase 1 is approximately 23.60 kilometers. After Phase 1, Phase 2 of the Meerut Metro is also planned, which will include another 13 stations stretching from Shradhapuri to Jagriti Vihar.

Meerut Metro Start Date– In Meerut, many metro stations have already been completed, and some are in the final stages, with only finishing work remaining. At the beginning of 2025, the NCRTC conducted a trial run of the Meerut Metro in January, which was carried out from Meerut South station to Meerut Central station, and it was successful. Following this, there is strong anticipation that the Meerut Metro will begin operations by the end of 2025.
