Under the CM Grid Plan, the road widening is being carried out in such a way that the divider is wide enough to accommodate future metro pillars, with extra space reserved for metro cabling.
Earlier, RITES Limited had prepared DPRs for two corridors.
- The second phase was planned from Phase-2 to Hapur Adda Crossing via Gokulpur village
- The first phase was proposed from Partapur to Pallavpuram Phase-1 via Begumpul.
However, before construction began, changes were made to the first phase, revising it to run from Meerut South to Modipuram. Now, after the first phase nears completion, discussions about the second phase have started again, with the possibility of route modifications.
