With recent changes, the DPR for the second corridor will be redrafted. Instead of beginning from Shradhapuri Phase II, the new plan considers extending the route from Begumpul to Gokulpur or possibly even further.

Meerut Metro Route Another Phases

The first corridor of the Meerut Metro is soon going to be ready to serve passengers, connecting Bhood Baral (Meerut South) to Modipuram. For the second corridor, a new DPR (Detailed Project Report) is planned to be prepared.

Currently, special consideration is being given to the metro corridor during the ongoing construction works on Garh Road. Under the CM Grid Plan, the road widening is being carried out in such a way that the divider is wide enough to accommodate future metro pillars, with extra space reserved for metro cabling.

Earlier, RITES Limited had prepared DPRs for two corridors.

  • The second phase was planned from Phase-2 to Hapur Adda Crossing via Gokulpur village
  • The first phase was proposed from Partapur to Pallavpuram Phase-1 via Begumpul.

However, before construction began, changes were made to the first phase, revising it to run from Meerut South to Modipuram. Now, after the first phase nears completion, discussions about the second phase have started again, with the possibility of route modifications.
