Modipuram Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro Station, located in the Modipuram area of Meerut, is the second-last station on the Meerut Metro line and the final station on the Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor. Designated with station code A21, it is owned by NCRTC and is expected to open by June 2025. This elevated station offers seamless interchange with the Namo Bharat Train. Here is the latest construction update of the Modipuram Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro Station–
Modipuram Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro Station Construction Update
Track track laying work completed at the Modipuram Station
Recently, track laying work has been completed at Modipuram, the last Namo Bharat station (towards Meerut) of this corridor. This station has three platforms—two for Namo Bharat trains and one for Meerut Metro. The civil work at this station is in its final stage, with the construction of the station roof (PEB) and finishing works progressing rapidly.
Modipuram station is located on National Highway 58. It is 215 meters long, around 34 meters wide, and approximately 16 meters high. For public convenience, a foot overbridge (FOB) is being built to connect both sides of the highway. This FOB will benefit Namo Bharat passengers and pedestrians looking to cross the road. The FOB construction is nearly complete, and civil work on the PEB structure is underway.
The station is expected to benefit residents of Modipuram and nearby areas like Pallavpuram, Palhaida, Dulhaida Chauhan, and residential societies such as A2Z and Supertech. Modipuram station features two entry-exit points. Technical rooms are almost complete, and the station includes three platforms, eight staircases, and eight escalators—four connecting the platforms to the concourse and two each at the entry-exits. Additionally, six lifts have been installed.
Steel railings have been installed at Entry-Exit A (from Delhi towards Modipuram), and granite stonework is in progress. Railing installation is also ongoing at Entry-Exit B (towards Delhi). Trial runs are currently underway between Meerut South and Shatabdi Nagar, and will soon extend to Modipuram.
Modipuram will provide RRTS and Metro services
Along with Namo Bharat services, Meerut Metro will also operate from Modipuram. This station marks a unique milestone as it will be the first in the country where both semi-high-speed Namo Bharat and Metro trains run on the same infrastructure. Meerut Metro services will cover a 23-kilometer stretch from Meerut South to Modipuram Depot, with 13 stations along the route.
Currently, Namo Bharat trains are operating on an 11-station, 55-kilometre stretch from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South. The target is to make the entire 82-kilometre corridor from Sarai Kale Khan to Modipuram operational within this year.
